SurePave®

SurePave® is a plastic cellular paving grid for reinforcing grass or gravel where a permeable/porous surface is required. SurePave® is an attractive natural looking paving alternative to concrete, asphalt pavements and grass stabilisation products. It is used in farming applications to achieve stable, permeable stock races and standoff areas.

SurePave® is used in many applications including trafficked areas in both grass and gravel including car parks, bus parks, walking tracks, emergency access roads, golf course paths, over flow car parking, grass or gravel driveways, farm gateways and tracks and tree root protection to name a few.

Yes, using a Geotextile is essential. Firstly directly under the SurePave panel to stop the weeds coming up and the expensive stone mixing with the base course layer using the FilterPlus or Duraforce AS240 range of Geotextile.

However, if using SurePave for a Driveway application we also recommend placing a layer of Duraforce AS240 Geotextile directly onto the clay/sub base to prevent the Base Course aggregate (e.g. GAP 40) being pushed into the clay and creating an uneven surface. SurePave® is very easy to install and can be easily installed by any able-bodied DIY person. Panels are laid onto a consistent level gradient (a compacted base course may be required for higher-use areas). Working from left to right, lay the panels so that the connecting lugs are leading. The lugs should firmly interlock, making SurePave quick and easy to lay.

A base course material should be placed and compacted to sufficient depth to take the projected loading. As a guide, if the surface needs to withstand heavy vehicles, the base course should be at least 150mm thick, or for light vehicles the base course should be about 75mm-150mm thick and for pedestrians and bicycles, only 50mm-100mm thickness is needed.  Depending on the soil type and the projected traffic loadings, a geotextile (Duraforce AS240) and/or a (Secugrid 20-20) may be required.

Yes, SurePave panels interlock using a unique, positive interlocking system.

We recommend using Black Panels for Grass and Gravel (e.g. River Run or GAP 7) and White for when filling with a light coloured decorative stone such as Lime chip or Ivory stone. Both colours have equal strength performance.
