Plan and measure the length and height of the wall. Mark and dig post holes. Using a string line to ensure the retaining wall is straight and level, concrete the posts into the ground ensuring the required height is achieved (taking into account the first rail being embedded 50mm into the ground) and that the posts line up and are vertical. If the retaining wall steps down at any point ensure it steps down at the same height as your rails.
Slot in timber rails, ensuring the first sleeper is embedded 50mm into the ground. Prior to back filling, suitable drainage is recommended, i.e. slotted drainage pipe with FilterSleeve™ laid in a trench of drainage metal, additionally the drainage metal can be wrapped in a DuraForce™ or FilterPlus™ geotextile.

SureWall posts are made from galvanised steel and should last at least 20 years depending on your location. Expect it to last longer inland rather than coastal, as saltwater tends to erode steel faster.
You can create perfect 90° corners. SureWall is designed with a 15° tolerance, so you can create ‘curved’ walls at special angles.

If you want your sandpit one timber rail high, you will need to use a SureWall post that is twice the height of your rail, as half of the post must be inserted into the ground.
It is essential that you adhere to the post spacing and depth guide. If the guide is not followed correctly, your wall could potentially fail.
