Plan and measure the length and height of the wall. Mark and dig post holes. Using a string line to ensure the retaining wall is straight and level, concrete the posts into the ground ensuring the required height is achieved (taking into account the first rail being embedded 50mm into the ground) and that the posts line up and are vertical. If the retaining wall steps down at any point ensure it steps down at the same height as your rails.

SureWall-Step-2

Slot in timber rails, ensuring the first sleeper is embedded 50mm into the ground. Prior to back filling, suitable drainage is recommended, i.e. slotted drainage pipe with FilterSleeve™ laid in a trench of drainage metal, additionally the drainage metal can be wrapped in a DuraForce™ or FilterPlus™ geotextile.

SureWall-Step-3

Nail down timber capping (optional), backfill up to the wall and you’re done!

Please refer to our full installation instructions in our brochure and ensure you read our post spacing guide.

Handy Tips

  • When installing SureWall, concrete one post at a time adding sleepers as you go to ensure a straight wall
  • For a different look, add a layer of timber capping to the top of the wall – it makes for great seating too
  • Designed with 15° tolerance, so you can create ‘curved’ walls at special angles

SureWall Sandpit

Building a simple sandpit is easy with SureWall – all you need is four corner posts, concrete and timber rails.

If you want your sandpit one timber rail high, you will need to use a SureWall post that is twice the height of your rail, as half of the post must be inserted into the ground.

Post Depth & Spacing

It is essential that you adhere to the post spacing and depth guide. If the guide is not followed correctly, your wall could potentially fail.

If you’re not comfortable with installing your own SureWall fence, a local contractor will be able to do the work for you.
